Why I joined this project… Melissa Hartman, DBA, relocated to Bracey, VA, from the Washington, DC area after retiring from a career in the federal government. She was drawn to the open spaces in the area and the friendly community that made her feel welcome. As she got involved with various community activities, she heard more of the engaging stories from people who had grown up here. She knew she wanted to help collect the history of the area to share with visitors and to preserve it for future generations to come. Every community has a story, and Bracey’s story continues to grow.
